‘Abolish Empty Office Buildings/Blocks' (AEOB) has been set up to counter the trend for buildings to be kept vacant in pursuit of per-square-foot office rents while people cannot afford to buy or rent homes. The project estimates that within Bristol there are over two million square feet (sixty acres) - of un-let office space. AEOB has been formed to try and redress this balance by creating spaces where people can live, work and socialise – moving away from office “zones” which are dead at night.
