Your application

Your application is a chance to highlight all your relevant skills, knowledge, achievements, and experience. In your application, we ask that you provide us with a CV and a cover letter.

To understand more about you and why Triodos is an organisation you would like to join, within the cover letter we will ask you to provide answers to these two questions.

2. Why is this specific role of interest to you and what would you bring to it?

In your application remember to:

Keep your CV clear and concise.
Highlight your skills, knowledge and experience that most relate to the role you are applying for.
Make sure the information you provide us with is in a logical order - bullet points are a good way to break up information.
Show your strengths, by taking your time and making sure you don't leave anything important out.
Tailor your application to the role you are applying for to ensure you highlight all your key strengths, achievements, skills, and knowledge.

Initial telephone conversation

To learn more about your skills and experience, we may contact you for an initial call. This is an opportunity for a member of our recruitment team to discuss your application and gain a deeper understanding of your motivation for the role.

Interview

If your skills and experience are relevant for the role you have applied for, you may be asked to take part in an interview.

We truly believe that interviews are a two-way process; we'll be able to find out more about you and will ask some behaviour and competency based questions to learn about you, your strengths and development areas as well as your skills and career history. You'll also get the chance to ask us any questions you may have about us and the role.

Competency based questions allow you to demonstrate specific skills relevant to the role, whilst the behaviour questions go beyond a focus on technical skills and experience and help identify the attitudes and approaches you take to work.

To prepare for your interview, make sure you:

Check the date, time, and location of your interview and plan your journey, or if the interview is taking place online that you have the link and access to MS Teams.
Research the role and our business.
Listen to the question carefully. Take your time to think about your answers, and if possible, use real life examples to help demonstrate your abilities.
Let us know of any reasonable adjustments we can put in place for this to be a fair and equitable process for you.

FAQs

How long does the application process take?
Once you have made an application, you will receive an acknowledgment email from our HR Team. Jobs are usually advertised for a period of two weeks. However, we may close this earlier if we receive a higher number of applications than expected, so please do apply as soon as possible if you find a job of interest to you. We review applications once the application period has closed, so don’t worry if you don’t hear from us straight away.

Whom can I contact if I have a problem or query regarding my application?

Can I apply for more than one role?
Of course! However, we recommend that you only apply for roles that are suited to your career history and skills.

Will I get feedback after my interview?
Always! We want to ensure that every candidate receives the best experience. Our HR Team will be in touch after your interview to discuss feedback with you.

If unsuccessful, can I apply for opportunities in the future?
If you were unsuccessful, we would still love to hear from you in the future should another opportunity arise that matches your skills. If you are hoping to apply for the same opportunity in the future, we recommend waiting six months before reapplying.

Are there reasonable adjustments available?

We have been an accredited Living Wage employer since 2014 and all our co-workers are paid at least the Real Living Wage. This means that we require all those employed, including co-workers employed via suppliers and contractors operating on site, to be paid the Real Living Wage.

UK & Ireland inspiring workplaces 2024 - finalist

We have been recognised and celebrated as an inspiring workplace that prioritises its people. This celebrates our culture and purpose, leadership, employee wellbeing, inclusion, and diversity, as well as how we communicate across the bank with all co-workers.

To be recognised as an ‘Employer with Heart’ by The Smallest of Things we have gone above and beyond the statutory requirements for family leave for premature births. This means that if a co-worker’s baby is born prematurely, their family leave will be extended by the number of days the baby is born prior to them being full term. This period is paid at full pay.

In partnership with Resource Solutions, we received the 2023 HR Excellence Award for Best ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) Strategy. An in-depth assessment of our HR strategy highlighted the value of our current initiatives and commitments, such as equal parental leave, corporate volunteering scheme and co-worker values ambassadors.

When we signed up to the WIBF Charter in 2019, we had 45% female representation within senior management against a target of 30%. Our current target is 40% and as of 30 September 2024 we have met this target with 40% of our current senior management being female. It should be noted that in a relatively small business a single change in one role can have a significant impact on gender ratio at the senior level.

Gender representation continues to be one of the focus areas within our Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Strategy. During 2024 we have collected EDI data for all our co-workers and have set targets for the growth of female representation across our mid and senior level roles. To achieve this target, we will continue to implement actions that we hope will increase female representation across the business.

As of 2024, our gender pay gap has decreased year on year. We are confident that the changes we have made, to encourage and support a diverse co-worker population, are making a difference and we are committed to continuing our quest to improve our levels of inclusion.
