How do I log in to Internet Banking?

What happens if the Business Account operator needs to be changed or I want to remove my Business Account operator?

You will need to complete a Change of Account Operator form. Please select the correct form depending on whether you have a loan, current account or deposit account. The forms can be found below, or we can send a form to you if you don’t have access to a printer. We will change these details when we receive the completed form signed by the existing account operator(s).

Can I transfer my existing cash ISA to Triodos?

Yes. You can transfer an existing cash ISA to your Triodos cash ISA. If you don't already have a Triodos cash ISA, you will need to open one first. Explore our range of ethical ISAs to find the right one for you, then apply via the Triodos Mobile Banking App.

To request the transfer, you’ll need to download and complete the relevant form below. The forms are interactive so you can fill out your details online, but you’ll need to print the form and sign it using a pen.

Then simply return it to ‘Freepost TRIODOS BANK’ and we’ll transfer your money directly between your ISAs and protect your tax-free ISA status. Do not move your money out of an ISA yourself, because your money will lose this ISA status.

The transfer process usually takes between 14-30 days. We’ll write to you when the transfer is complete.

If you are transferring to a new Fixed Rate ISA, please note that it can take up to 30 days to complete a transfer. We must receive your money from your existing provider within 60 days of the Fixed Rate ISA account opening date, so please make sure you start the transfer process as soon as possible.

How do I log into Internet Banking with the Triodos Mobile Banking App?

You can use the Triodos App to log in to Internet Banking by following these steps:

Go to the Triodos login page on your internet browser and select the tab called ‘Log in with mobile app’.
Open the Triodos App on a second device and tap the QR button in the corner of the login page.
Scan the QR code on your internet browser with the scanner.
Use your passcode, fingerprint or face recognition when prompted in the app.
Tap ‘confirm’ in the app and Internet Banking will automatically log in.

How much of my deposits are protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme?

The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) is a UK body which gives you automatic protection up to £85,000 if your bank, building society, or credit union goes out of business.

Your eligible deposits with Triodos Bank UK are protected up to a total of £85,000 by the FSCS. An eligible deposit is money in accounts such as current and savings accounts, including cash ISAs. With Triodos, this will also cover cash held in investment accounts but not the investments themselves.

Please note that the £85,000 will apply to the total of all eligible deposits with Triodos Bank rather than per account or product. Any deposits over this amount are unlikely to be covered.

As you'd expect from a bank, we take security very seriously - here are some things we do to keep you safe. To help you spot fraud, we’d also like you to know the things we’d never do.

What we do

Provide around the clock debit card transaction monitoring.
Provide 24/7 phone support to answer your questions about your debit card.
Give you the ability to block your card in the Triodos App or Internet Banking.
Temporarily block accounts and debit cards if fraudulent activity is suspected.
Automatically log you out of Internet Banking and the app after a period of inactivity.
Keep you up to date with fraud protection advice.
Send text alerts when online or card transactions are made.
Temporarily suspend your Internet Banking if left dormant for a long time.
Monitor payments to assess whether the payment you are making is likely to have been made as part of a scam.

What we’ll never do

We will never contact you out of the blue to ask you:

For your mobile app passcode.
For your digipass PIN.
For your card number or PIN.
To transfer money out of your account.
To click a link in an email to our Internet Banking.
To download any software onto your PC or mobile phone.
To authorise or cancel card payments through the app, or approve “refunds”.

If in doubt, call us on the number on our website, or delete the email without opening it.

What do I do if I've blocked my digipass

Your digipass requires the use of a 4 digit PIN. When the PIN is entered incorrectly multiple times, it will become locked and will provide you with a lock code. If you receive a lock code on your digipass, please call us with your account number, security details, and digipass to hand. We will be able to help you unlock your digipass and log into internet banking. Our phone number is 0330 355 0355 (or +44 (0)1179 739339 if calling from abroad) and phone lines are open Monday to Friday, 8.00am - 6.00pm.

How do I set up or cancel a Direct Debit?

Setting up a Direct Debit should be done through the company who will be claiming the Direct Debit. You can cancel a Direct Debit in the Triodos Mobile Banking App under ‘More’, ‘Account settings’ then ‘Direct Debits’, or in Internet Banking under ‘Self Service’, ‘Account settings’ then ‘Direct Debits’. You will need to contact the company who claim the Direct Debit to cancel it with them as well.

How do I set up a standing order?

To set up standing orders in the Triodos App or Internet Banking, choose the account you wish the money to be taken from and select 'Payments'. Enter the recipients’ details and the amount. Click the calendar icon next to the payment date to set the frequency of the payment and save your changes. Authorise the payment to complete the set up.

Standing orders are processed on working days, so if the payment you have set up is due to go out on a weekend or UK bank holiday, it will be processed on the next working day.

Simply log in to your Mobile App, go to ‘More’ then ‘Account Settings’ and tap on ‘Switching Service’ to start your switch.

Alternatively, you can log in to Internet Banking, click on 'Self service' and use the quick links to ‘Switch current account’, which will take you to the switch form in old Internet Banking.

How do I make a payment?

You can make a faster payment or CHAPs payment through Internet Banking or the Triodos Mobile Banking App. You’ll need to authorise the payment with either your digipass, your username and password or your Triodos Mobile Banking App passcode.

To make a payment in the app or Internet Banking, follow these steps:

Log in and select the account you’d like to make a payment from. Select the green ‘Payment’ button.
Enter the payment details and then at the bottom you’ll see two options – Faster Payment and CHAPS Payment. Select the type of payment you’d like to make. You can also set the payment date and make it a regular payment or Standing Order by selecting the calendar icon.

Please bear in mind that Faster Payments will normally be received within two hours of the payment being authorised but may take up to one business day.

CHAPS payments authorised before 2pm on a business day will be received by the end of the day.

I’ve forgotten my Internet Banking password, but don’t have all the details needed to request a new password. What can I do?

If we are unable to match the information you have entered on our password reset page with the information we hold on record you will need to call our Customer Contact Team on 0330 355 0355 or (+44) 117 973 9339 if you are not in the UK. We will be able to send a new password to you by post, this will be sent to your registered address. When calling us please have your account number and security details at hand.

If you are trying to log into Internet Banking for a Business account you do not need a username and password but will have a Digipass and PIN.

My digipass battery is low. What do I do?

Did you know you can now replace your digipass with the Triodos Mobile Banking App? Find out how.

If you need a new digipass because the battery is low (when it displays 5%) please let us know and we will send you a replacement. You should receive this within 5 business days.

We will replace your digipass free of charge when the battery level is 5% or less. In our experience when it proactively displays “Low Battery” it will still have quite a long battery life left. You can find out the amount of battery left on your digipass by following these instructions:

If you have the older style navy blue digipass:

Turn it on by pressing the red power button.
Press the letter “T” button five times until the display shows “TEST BATT?”
Press the “=” sign.

The display will tell you what percent of battery you have left.

If you have the green digipass:

Turn it on by pressing the OK button on the lower right of the digipass.
Press the “>” button four times until you see “5. Info” on the screen.
Press OK.
Press the “>” button three times until it states “4. Battery level” on the screen.
Press OK.

The display will tell you what percent of battery you have left.

What is a secure message?

Triodos Bank's secure messaging service is only accessible via logging in to your Internet Banking and clicking on feed in the menu. From here you can send us a secure message and view any messages we may have sent to you. When we do send you a message you will receive an e-mail advising you to log in to Internet Banking to read it. How do I activate my Current Account debit card?

To activate your card, use your PIN to withdraw money from an ATM or when making a payment. You will need to do this before you make any contactless or online payments.

Your PIN is viewable in the Triodos Mobile Banking App under More > Cards. If you have never used the Triodos App, your PIN will be sent in the post separately.

How much money can I send from my Personal savings account?

You can send money from your Personal savings account via Internet Banking or the Mobile App.

The daily limit is £20,000.00 per day for Personal savings account customers.

If you opened your Online Saver/ Online Saver Plus via the Mobile App and went through the ID and selfie check you can authorise payments up to £20,000 with your mobile passcode.

Can I import a batch of payments through Internet Banking?

Business Banking customers only can import a file containing a batch of payments. Normally you will create this file in your accounting software.

Go to ‘Payments’, ‘Batch Payments’ and click on ‘Upload batch payments’. The Import Payments page allows you to select a file for import by browsing any of the drives accessible to your computer. Once you have selected the file, you need to authorise the import using your digipass.

You can see a history of imported files, including status, in your Internet Banking under the ‘Account Information’ tab, on the page ‘Imported Files History’.

Logging into internet banking I'm being asked for a Digipass number. I haven't been sent one - what should I do?

I've forgotten my username, but don’t know all the details asked on the ‘I have forgotten my username’ page. What can I do?

If you hold Savings accounts only with Triodos you will use a username and password to log into your Internet Banking. If we are unable to match the information you have entered on our username reminder request page with the information we hold on record you will need to contact us. We will be able to send a username reminder email to your registered email address. When calling us, please have your account number and security details at hand.

Why can I only authorise payments under £250 using the Triodos Mobile Banking App passcode?

If you have set up the Triodos App using a digipass, you will need to use the digipass to authorise payments over £250 for security purposes. Setting up the app with an identity check instead means that you and your money are better protected from fraud. Therefore, you are able to authorise a payment of any amount using your app passcode. To change the set-up of your app, click ‘Help’ on the Triodos App login screen, then select ‘Reset your login’ and choose the option to set up with an identity check. Your digipass will be deactivated once your pass the check as you will then only need your passcode for all banking activity.
